Conceived in 1994, founders Franco and Paula Fidanza realized that there was an amazing untapped opportunity in the quick serve delivery market.
For the most part, delivery service was limited to pizza and burgers and was being provided by only a handful of restaurants. With the growing popularity of chicken wings, Franco & Paula decided the market was ready for a quick serve concept that not only provided home delivery of their delicious chicken wings, but all their menu items… including cheese steaks, heroes, salads and kid’s meals.
The first Planet Wings® concept store opened in January 1995 and Franco and Paula haven’t looked back. They committed to using only the highest quality chicken available and to give their customers an incredible value for their money. They also offered 20 outrageous wing flavors (now 24) and prepared each customers meal made fresh to order. Coupled with super convenient delivery service, Franco and Paula had discovered the recipe for success.
Franco and Paula spent the next couple of years perfecting the concept and now have stores throughout the greater NY metropolitan area and New Jersey. Two stores have recently opened in Virginia, marking their first development outside the tri-state area. There are over a dozen new Planet Wing’s stores under development and construction at the moment.
Paula and Franco have also stayed focused on giving back to the community, having contributed time, money and Planet Wings resources to charitable organizations and community programs designed to improve the quality of life for people in the communities where there is a Planet Wings store.
